Comstock Heritage Kerr County Longhorn
The Kerr County Longhorn buckle by Comstock Heritage is made with a heavy gauge sterling silver base and 14k yellow gold longhorn motif. The buckle’s weighty heft and wide geometric shape register a masculine aesthetic to complement the longhorn’s assertive central presence, while the sweeping engraved pattern provides a sense of motion and balanced fullness of space. Heavy use of darkening in the sterling silver further enriches the aesthetic and sets off the gold motif’s visual impact. Fitted for 1.5in belt mounts.
Comstock Heritage DC Tribal Longhorn
This buckle, made entirely from sterling silver, features a longhorn skull motif bordered by tribal patterning. The skull has a remarkable level of detail—its careful shading and wear-marks (traced and engraved by hand) create a vivid likeness of weatherworn bone. James estimates that the skull alone took eight hours to make. The tribal patterning is a natural fit to add some Americana balance to the Western-themed motif, and its look seems quite improved by the juxtaposition as well.
Comstock Heritage Chief Pontiac
Always searching for new ways to fashion their buckles, here Comstock Heritage uses ancient metallurgical techniques to create a unique piece of jewelry. They've taken heavy-gauge sterling silver and hammered it out so it has an almost snakeskin surface. On top of that they have overlain an overhead an profile of an Indian chief, given them just enough detail to match the design on the face. With beveled corners to finish off the look, you won't find a buckle like this anywhere else. Fits all 1.5-inch belt straps.
America’s oldest western silversmiths, Comstock Heritage was founded in 1886. Since then they have been perfecting the art of taking metal from the earth and shaping it into something beautiful. The Stegman family has owned the business since the 1920s, making everything from badges for law enforcement to ornamentation for saddles. Using this storied history and expertise, the craftsmen at Comstock now specialize in one-of-a-kind custom silver and gold pieces. Everything Comstock produces is made entirely by hand, reflecting respect for the materials and care for the family legacy of Comstock Heritage.
