Comstock Heritage Impala
We don't know if the silversmiths of Comstock Heritage are fans of African wildlife, muscle cars, but with the Impala they've created a belt buckle that captures the spirit of both. Built with a strong foundation of sterling silver, the face of this buckle has been blackened to set the stage for myriad metal overlays and jewels. Two graceful impalas in mid-jump adorn the bottom, and two birds fly on top. All are made of platinum. Eighteen-karat red, yellow and green gold is fashioned into flowers, leaves and scrolls. Each flower has a precious jewel inside, using .6 carats of tourmaline and .33 carats worth of diamonds. All these contrasting colors make each design stand out. The entire face is then encircled with eighteen-karat white gold. There is so much detail on this buckle, even the back is decorated with beautiful, hand-engraved scrollwork. Comstock Heritage pulled out all the stops to create a one-of-a-kind buckle. Fits all 1.5-inch belt straps.
America’s oldest western silversmiths, Comstock Heritage was founded in 1886. Since then they have been perfecting the art of taking metal from the earth and shaping it into something beautiful. The Stegman family has owned the business since the 1920s, making everything from badges for law enforcement to ornamentation for saddles. Using this storied history and expertise, the craftsmen at Comstock now specialize in one-of-a-kind custom silver and gold pieces. Everything Comstock produces is made entirely by hand, reflecting respect for the materials and care for the family legacy of Comstock Heritage.
